Using Sport and Social Tools:
Monitoring is the initial tool that can steer the course of success for a project. It provides a way to assess the crucial link between implementers and beneficiaries.
#LearningSprintIOCYL@iocyoungleaders
Monitoring enables reports that contribute to transparency & accountability to be generated. This tool is crucial for the sustainability of a project and provides a foundation to be built on in order for success to be achieved.
Using social media campaigns to observe the reach of a project through interactive canvassing such as polls, will highlight the audiences needs & identifies possible barriers to participation at the earliest stage.
Creating an environment that is accessible to all ages, ethnicities, sexualities & disabilities is the primary focus of this initiative. The goal is to reduce the participation gap between those who do and don’t have a disability. Making sport an enjoyable experience for all!
Inclusion- ensures that everyone can participate in sports and physical activities on an equal basis no matter their disability or social status. Statistically 43% of adults with disabilities are physically inactive compared to 23% of non-disabled adults.
Marcus Rashford is a huge name in sport and has inspired others to use their position and make a positive influential change throughout society. He has proven that no matter your status you are never above helping others and is a role model for all young leaders ✨
@MarcusRashford has championed the Holiday Activities and Food Programme (HAF) for the last 4 years.
The HAF programme is a government funded programme that provides free meals and physical activity for disadvantaged children during the school holidays #LearningSprintIOCYL
Working alongside local councils and sourcing funding from the government for a national campaign has enabled Rashford to secure a further £220million funding this year. This funding will allow the upstart of more schemes across the nation that can support more children.
