I leave my former chambers with nothing but gratitude for everyone who supported me and helped me along the way, in particular the Family Team and Court of Protection Team who have given me a great start to my career. 2/2
1/6 Mark’s family are heartbroken to announce that he passed away late on Tuesday following a period living with advanced prostate cancer. Mark was much-loved by his friends and family, but also greatly appreciated in his professional life, which this thread aims to celebrate.
With deep sadness that we share the awful news that our trustee, mentor, friend and beating heart of Amicus, Mark George KC, died yesterday. He was a huge part of what we do and will leave a massive hole but also an powerful legacy. Deepest condolences to his Sue and his family.
This one is excruciating-the tears won’t stop. Over the years he has gone from mentor to friend. Myself&the junior end of Amicus Alumni owe him so much. He is why I do what I do. I am heartbroken&will miss him forever.
Goodnight & Godspeed, Mark. You will never be forgotten.💔
We are very sad to hear the news of the passing of Mark George KC, Head of Garden Court North Chambers. Our thoughts and sympathies are with his family, and friends and colleagues. He was a giant at the Criminal Bar. And a mentor to the juniors. He will be much missed.
@tomgeorgefilm@Mark_George_KC Beautiful words-he will be proud of you as he always has been. Knowing&working with your dad at Amicus has been the greatest privilege. He’s left big boots to fill but I &so many at Amicus will do all we can to carry on his good work. I will miss him forever. A total legend. ❤️🕊️

My timeline is flooded with wonderful anecdotes about @Mark_George_KC. 🥺
I think the main thing I learned over the years from Mark was to never be afraid to do/to speak up for what is RIGHT, no matter how unpopular.
I will miss his fearlessness & his kindness so much. 😣
