The participants of the attempted coup on October 4 were very well aware that they were not going for an ordinary takeover of the government. They knew very well that they were gathering to replay the same scenario which had taken place in Nepal a few weeks earlier.

This is what they had been preparing for, this is what the people were told.

Despite such an overt statement of the illegal, immoral, and destructive plan, the attempted coup, which promised the Nepal-style power takeover in Georgia was still supported from abroad.

The externally-supported Nepal scenario failed.

Now the Georgian people are watching who is going to condemn the coup and to distance from it, so that to draw conclusions from this bitter lesson.

In Istanbul, I met with the President of the International Paralympic Committee, Andrew Parsons. We discussed the development of the Paralympic movement in 🇬🇪, the importance of state support, and the recent, inspiring achievements of 🇬🇪 para-athletes.
Mr. Parsons commended Georgia’s high-level hosting of international tournaments and recalled his meetings with PM Irakli Kobakhidze in 2017 and during the opening of the #Paris2024
The meeting was held ahead of the European Youth Para Games, starting on July 25 in Istanbul.
