@cathaypacific I just got an email stating my cancellation had been received. I have not cancelled my flight. I am a business class passenger experiencing great difficulties with your service
@cathaypacific I am a business class customer, am due to fly out tomorrow from ZRH and cannot check in online. This is after having my prior journey downgraded to premium economy due to Cathay's overbooking. I'd like assistance immediately so that I know the same won't happen.
@ali_kyteler@theheraldsun The betterment of Australia? The betterment of Australia is not paying people a tonne of money who produce nothing for the economy sending Victoria into more debt.
@ItsKieranDrew Absolutely. I see people at the gym doing it and think I should be doing the same and then stop myself in my tracks and realise I wouldn’t be totally present with my workout if I were trying to learn from a podcast at the same time.
Subscriptions don't require contracts.
A true subscription means you pay on a regular basis and you're paying for the service for the interval of time until the next renewal date.
They tell your customer:
'If you don't trust me, don't work with me.'
'If I'm not delivering, opt out. No questions asked.'
'I know what I do is valuable and you'll want to continue working with me.'
'If I don't deliver on my promises, I won't have your subscription and I won't have a business.'
Don't ask your clients to sign contracts.
Don't get lawyers involved.
Build trust instead.
Deliver on your promises and your business will grow.
The power of one book:
Three existed at two local libraries.
Two were "on-shelf".
Library lingo seemed like a distant memory.
I drove to the library nearest to me where one of the available books were.
As I was about to enter, an elderly lady was departing, so I opened the door inwards and held it ajar for her.
'Au Revoir to you my dear', she said with a lovely warm smile.
I was wearing a t-shirt with Au Revoir written across the front.
I got to the counter, asked the lady if I could borrow the book I knew was "available".
She smiled warmly too and said, 'That lady that just walked out, just borrowed it!"
Of all the available books in this library, that lady, and I, both came in hunting for this one book.
Well, just my luck.
I was reading a good book.
So I proceeded to the next library.
It was a struggle to find this book at the next library as it had only just been returned.
And returned early.
And there I was pouncing on it like a waitress taking your plate before you've even had a chance to finish your last mouthful.
I assume this means it was so good, they couldn't put it down, and finished it more quickly than the due date.
I knew this book was good because I had started it.
I was 9 chapters in. Maybe a third of the way through.
But I had to give it back to my Mum who was leaving for the country.
And she had to return it to her local library.
I was desperate to finish it.
I got help at this next library.
Finding the book was like a mystery - I wasn't doing it on my own.
All of this for one book.
I couldn't believe the lengths I was going to.
Just for a book.
But it wasn't just a book.
It was a story.
The power of a good story.
Should not be underestimated.
We were so lucky to have had that experience.
An experience working for a team of bosses that put employees before anything else.
If you've ever heard of Herb Kelleher of Southwest Airlines, you'll know what I'm talking about.
If not, it goes like this:
Employees first.
Customers second.
Shareholders third.
Happy employees means happy customers who come back for more, which creates happy shareholders.
Nothing will bring down a business more quickly than a toxic culture and that culture comes from it's leaders.
What do you get when you give up the possibility of sleeping with any woman who crosses your path?

Hiring from outside your industry gives your business new perspectives.
And fresh perspectives mean fewer preconceived ideas about how things should be done.
Instead, an open mind simply to do things well.
It is not a man’s solutions a woman is rejecting. It is the timing of them that she rejects.
You’ll build trust with her when you listen, offer empathy, and offer her a hug.
It is after this, when she’s not in her state of frustration or fear, that she’ll be open to your solution.
Women love to hear their man’s perspective and advice.
But first she needs your ear. And then your arms.
