School absence levels have soared in recent years - and if the government is serious about tackling them, air filters in schools could be a significant step forward in improving health and school attendance.
🔥Brilliant article about clean air for schools.
“Every child, every teacher deserves clean air in every classroom across the country. An opportunity should be taken to do the right thing NOW, so we're protecting this generation & future generations.”

🚨 Doctors!
Please put plug-in HEPA filtration in waiting rooms, clinics & surgeries.. it’s cheap & effective
Measles is airborne, it can fill a room & linger for hours .. air filtration catches all airborne pathogens including Measles, Covid, colds, Flu, RSV, TB, chickenpox…
We’re quite happy to look back and criticise the Government’s response to Covid during 2020, but why do we accept their response to it in 2024? We’ve an increasingly disabled population getting infected over and over again with no air filtration and next to no vaccine coverage🤷♂️
"Air filters will be installed in London's most polluted schools as part of a pilot scheme, Sadiq Khan has said."
Everyone has the right to breath clean safe air.

The first episode of Breathtaking was so spot on:
The chaos
The fear
The top down diktats ignorant to what’s actually happening on the frontline
And the kick in the teeth: there was no need for such chaos…we had plenty of warning!

An excellent article on LongCovid finishing with a summary of the problem - We're not yet ready to acknowledge that there is one....

@KayBurley@ReemAmirIbrahim Life expectancy is actually falling in the UK now so no definately shouldn’t be raising the state pension age. If anything it should come down until life expectancy increases again
AIR FILTER COSTS vs
SUPPLY TEACHER COSTS 🧵
Widcombe Junior School have just raised £5,000 to put air filters in EVERY classroom. 👏🏻
With 240 pupils at the school, that works out at ~£20 PER PUPIL.
Now let’s compare that against typical supply teacher costs…
@MissGibbs15 Yep I did this, school had much longer lunch breaks compared to today. Now kids lunch break is over before they’ve got to the front of the lunch queue sometimes it’s unhealthy. No time to play with friends or chill
COVID isn’t just the nasty cold/flu/virus that knocked your friend out of commission last week.
It’s the new onset diabetes, heart attacks, high blood pressure, cognitive dysfunction, reproductive issues, autoimmune disease, etc., etc. that is both nowhere & suddenly everywhere.
As the mother of a clinically vulnerable child, I couldn’t agree more with this thread! ❤️
“It should be a priority for schools to make the one environment children are mandated to attend as safe as possible. Only then can the space be a truly inclusive one.”

We have the tools (air cleaning), and at Davos, the rich and powerful use them.
They are cheap, efficient and cost effective. Still we refuse to install them in hospitals, schools, care homes, child care...
55 studies supporting their installation:
