How many rain gauges do we need to measure rainfall across the River Tyne catchment—and where should we put them? That was the question posed by cohort 5 student Ruth Dunn to children from Newcastle during "Twilight at the Museum" on Friday. Great job, Ruth!

Amazing weekend to mark six decades of Newcastle Geospatial undergraduate teaching, catching up with c. 250 of our graduates. So sad that our degree programmes have now come to an end, but the community is alive and well, and UKHE is worse off without these innovative programmes!

The wild flower meadow outside OSHQ always looks glorious after No Mow May! 🌼

By pausing routine mowing across our sites, we’ve given space for spontaneous wildflowers to emerge, supported essential pollinators, and helped boost local biodiversity in a simple way.
