@mwxhitaker When you are able to emotionally, logistically, etc get details on what those back-up plans are every so often, and chip away bit by bit if there are flaws in them.
@mwxhitaker As a weather nerd stranger, so sorry you're having to deal with this on top of 'normal' disaster stress. A little bit of progress. Be the tortoise and not the hare. Pass on each significant change, ask how many neighbors are still there, if LE has been by to check on the area,etc
@mwxhitaker Last thought is to ask what his plan is if you happen to be right and he wrong and water hits the house, however small he thinks the chance is.

@trentonsperry Germany at the end of the 1st world war would be the archetype example. But that was after 4 long years of a two front war and a last gasp offensive that failed. If western support is sustained, I think its headed that way, but a good ways off still.
