To fix a system’s breakdown, we need to fix the system that causes it: capitalism...searching for ways to make “the business case” and gain market advantage when addressing climate change...is as absurd as making the business case to not commit suicide. https://t.co/iQpcqJ7lBW

Very excited that my article “lush aftermath”—on plants, policing, and property—is finally out! I show how, in the aftermath of war, Indigenous Maya migrant plant nursery workers produce suburban property regimes.

@stone_prof Try group assignments, in real life they will not work in isolation, why should they work by themselves in class? Groups of 3-4 max cooperate and motivate each other without free riding risk. Give them in-class time to get organized, it works really well. 👌
@rodriguesjm6@OpenAcademics A paper I really loved was desk-rejected by the journal of my dreams. The editor advised they were mostly theoretical and my paper was too policy-oriented. 2 years later, it was published in a 3rd top development journal!! Just take easy & keep trying!!😌
@SarahJTracy Typical question from a quantitative mind: “how many” interviews? What sample “size”? None, there is no such thing in qualitative research, the paper is good but it’s a quantitative analysis of qualitative research, two totally different paradigms!
To guarantee #foodsystems resilience, dietary & agricultural practices will need to respect a culture of diversity. In other words, foodscapes - together with landscapes - should be part of our thoughtscapes. And that includes animals. Always.

NEW! My study shows just 10% more #tree canopy reduces #heartdisease💚 for people in houses, specifically by lowering odds of:
#CVD mortality by 4%
all-cause #mortality by 3%
fatal or non-fatal #heartattacks by 7%
But not for people in apartments... why?🤔
