For months I treated Claude like a vending machine: give it the ask, take whatever came back.

When I started asking why it built something a certain way, the bugs stopped.

Managing AI well is the same job as managing people well. Ask for the reasoning, not only the result.

Two years ago, everything I wanted to build needed an engineer on the team.

This week I shipped a working tool with Claude, on my own, in an afternoon.

The skill that mattered wasn't syntax. It was knowing exactly what I wanted before I asked for it.
