@navajofelon Don’t know if you are actually Navajo, but if you are this would be funny AF because the Navajo not even native to the southwest, they came from Canada like right before the Spanish got here, at least Mexican tribes are from the same generic and language groups, Navajo are not.
@TaupeAvenger It’s moronic to think the Central Valley can grow what we grow in the Monterey Bay/valleys around it. They can’t. They can’t grow artichokes like Castroville, or berries like Watsonville, it’s mild costal farming here, only here, Santa Maria and Oxnard can, you can’t replicate it
@agailtale@tolstoybb Nah, they don’t grow almonds here, that’s the Central Valley, they grow artichokes, all the berries, leaf greens, broccoli, cauliflower, way way more stuff, but not nuts, crops that need mild temps and great growing conditions and that people love to buy and eat
@SteveKerins@avrilbradley23 You can’t grow what we grow in the Monterey bay in the Midwest/south. Our climate and conditions are perfect for growing most things almost all year round, the quality and quantity would take a major hit, there’s a reason they grow it here given the land is so valuable.
@Anthonyxm3v@avrilbradley23 Because that’s not now agriculture works, they aren’t growing subsidized corn/soy bean slop here, this is the best ag land in the world, they grow what people want and buy and can grow it almost all year, you can’t replace or move it, you can build houses other places though
@loomdoop@studio_daddy Those YIMBY autists that just look over random parts of the U.S. they know nothing about and want to “develop” it and make charts and shit really need a job, multiple jobs, hobbies or some hoes or something because that is so weird and lame 😂,
@Broccoliflower1@_fat_ugly_rat_ You can’t even import that stuff and have it at the quantity/ quality this area produces, and we don’t want to become a major metro area, Bay Area is less than an hour away for anyone that wants that, we are good farming here
@_fat_ugly_rat_ We are an agricultural powerhouse, your food comes from this area, best food growing conditions in the world, they build cities in other places that aren’t as agriculturally important and needed as the Monterey Bay/ valleys near it
@jejejejejelol@HVNYrefugee Even in the U.S. depends on the state I guess, but in California we regard most Tex-Mex as ass, as a shittier version of better actual Mexican food you can get in Arizona, Chicago, CA, and to be fair to TX, near the Rio grand valley they still do good Mexican food
@BrianTree14@SonnyLoki@stats_feed California won’t be broke if it doesn’t have to keep sending its money to support the rest of the broke ass predominantly red states that can’t support themselves without California taxes, no more fed taxes means California would be ballin and keeping all its money.
@Dfsderek325@matthew_rs@SonnyLoki@stats_feed That water is used predominantly for desert agriculture to feed the rest of the U.S. during the winter, wouldn’t matter to CA if it was cut off, you would just go hungry without California/Arizona food in the winter as they grow almost all of it that time of year.
@TreyLLauderdale@Afinetheorem It’s not a vocal minority, it’s majority sentiment on the central coast, from Santa Cruz to Santa Barbara, if we wanted to live in a major metro area we would move to The Bay or LA. We can develop a little, but no desire to become what outsider urbanist want from locals.
@cornocopiando2@bugattihotty@marindatanow Nah it’s just gentrification due to tech, working class white, Mexican, black, all used to be in SF in higher numbers but tech blew up the economy and if you don’t have hella money, your ass is getting pushed out to the east bay if you are lucky, and Sacramento/Central Valley
@SamaHoole Grows more than just lettuce, if you are eating a fresh vegetable/fruit from the months of Nov-March, it most likely comes from the CA/AZ desert, not just lettuce, going to need to go back to eating oatmeal and pickled pigs feet all winter like the old times.
@PatrickSpenceDC@texasbozo@big_pedestrian Coachella and the whole CA/AZ desert are extremely important in the winter, almost all the fresh vegetables and fruits you see at your stores across all of America right now are being grown down there, Central Valley and costal California grow during March-Nov
@_312DARIUS Nah dawg, our O-Line ass too, legit might be the worst in the NFL. it’s going to be a battle of who’s O-Line selling more ass, and personally I think us Raiders selling more 😂
@PatrickJBauer@cjspeed00@rawsalerts Yeah for sure at the royal palace in Madrid when I visited. I believe Spanish and EU citizens paid a lower rate. Americans pay more and they had a funny Latin Americans pay less or free on certain days so you can see all gold and silver they stole from them 😂
@kamalot329 @nevada_c3po @Pro__Trading They very much do, I work in ag, the company owners/ field owners are generally white, conservative and big Trump supports, yet all they do is hire illegals immigrants and then complain about them being here like they aren’t the problem/ main reason for hiring them.
