@notneekolul@OfficRayshizzle This is really weird. Would the exact same info be better if it was Kai or Speed giving it? Do you think anyone could design classes as well packaged, grounded, experienced and evidence-based as Lud? What's the teacher's privilege threshold for the same info to become valuable?
@BlisssAbyss@Deezus_Walks I think saying he's purposefully trying to have a bad time and being proud of it are two big assumptions that, from the very long time I've followed him, don't seem true at all
Genuine props for not pushing back on my reply though, rarely if ever do I see that on the internet
@BlisssAbyss@Deezus_Walks what's this weird high horse of efficient time usage when you're replying multiple times to a post that's visibly making you very angry on the universally agreed upon most toxic social media platform
@AboutNintendo There's plenty to criticize, which you could discuss at length with even the most diehard fans, but all criticism is essentially people who know nothing about it complaining about the "balance" or "mechanical issues" of a 20+ year old healthy competitive meta. It's tiresome.
@britoooooooooo@loopitt like im sure the headline "trans community bullies people into not playing a videogame" is really helping them feel safer and more welcomed in the world. This move was so bad it feels like something 4chan would orchestrate to hurt the left; terrible by every possible metric.
@britoooooooooo@loopitt why in the world would ANYNONE expect complete strangers to do something for no utilitarian gain whatsoever? That's something you do for a friend. This hogwarts bs was *nothing* but a net negative for trans folk (bad press + missed opportunities to flip the narrative)
"I wonder what it would be like if I could go back to 2004 and dominate the competitive melee scene ๐ค"
2004 spectators: "this f*ggot sure does spotdodge on platforms a lot"
@Fizzi36 You could get occasionally forced into a set with bad ping, but I think most people don't wanna play on terrible connections if given the choice.
@Fizzi36 The system I had in mind is both players voting to terminate the set. If both vote yes the match is canceled, otherwise, the set has to continue. That way you can't have players withdrawing from slightly imperfect connections or avoiding matchups.
@Fizzi36 From a country with shit routing:
~60, literal godlike connection.
~80, not perfect but close (could just switch to 3f and it's back to perfect).
~100, would play out in unranked but leave after a game.
Beyond that it's unplayable.
@BaronYC@Mr_RSmash Odyssey would still look more technically impressive for sure, but in terms of what'd look better/prettier I'd take Sunshine any day and it's not close. As you said though, agree to disagree.
@BaronYC@Mr_RSmash Like imagine exactly Sunshine, but in native HD at 60fps with slightly upscaled textures and slightly upgraded models. I don't think Odyssey would hold a candle to that, and the Switch would be more than capable of running it.
@BaronYC@Mr_RSmash Yeah I know, what I mean is I'd like to see studios slightly improving techniques over the best looking games of the past with better textures/slightly higher polygon counts while providing better performance with the SIGNIFICANTLY better hardware that the Switch has.
@BaronYC@Mr_RSmash If I could sum up all my problems, it'd be prioritizing new complex lighting systems (that often hurt more than help) over art direction & performance with tried and true methods, essentially doing what was already done in beautiful old games but running at 60fps.
@BaronYC@Mr_RSmash I'd still argue Sunshine > Odyssey, Metroid Prime > Dread, Toadstool Tour > Super Rush, and probably other examples. While a lot more impressive on the Switch from a technical standpoint, I think all those games looked better on the Gamecube mostly due to art direction.
