@finnster1977 Oh they were very very good last year, had a brilliant win against a great Derry school in the AI semi-final up in Belfield... both teams applauded off by the supporters afterwards, through a tunnel.

Very good again this year, but beaten by a good Calasanctius team.

Giannis, after losing out to the Miami Heats series responds to a question asked again:

"There’s no failure in sports. There’s good days, bad days, some days you are able to be successful, some days you are not, some days it is your turn, some days it’s not. That’s what sports is about. You don’t always win"

This mindset separates Giannis from every other NBA star. He is frustrated but focused on the big picture and can be at peace because he plays hard every time he takes the court. He provides an insightful perspective to losing in sports. Bodied the reporter. Lol.

@seanmac67 @finnster1977 I also don't think Gavin has the defensive mindset for 6. He basically plays, and has played really well, as a very deep forward, almost as a sweeper, throughout the NHL. That he has got on a world of ball doesn't mean he has been an effective 6.

@seanmac67 @finnster1977 I don't think speed is the key ingredient at full back Seán, far more important to have the mindset for it. I back Fintan Burke every day of the week at 3, on the basis that the men around him keep a very tight rein in the space in front and to the side of 3.

@seanmac67 @finnster1977 There's no optimism Sean. I just want to see the player group being served in the best way by management. Nobody knows who will win the AI in 2025. It has been such a lack of identity already this year, similar to recent years, that it demoralises me.

@seanmac67 @finnster1977 This "new" management line is complete rubbish... all those guys have been around these players for years. They know who they have on the panel. Make no mistake. If they decide to use that many players that's just their decision.

@seanmac67 @finnster1977 Obviously you can think what you want Seán. I disagree completely - why not expect the best, prepare to be the best. I've seen the vast majority of these players up close in the club championship in recent years. Top hurlers when sent out properly prepared.

@seanmac67 @finnster1977 In other words why wouldn't management, who are paid handsomely, do all in their power to send out their best team with drive and purpose every day? There aren't that many games in a county season. The contrast between the setups even during the warm ups was so stark.
