@sage_of_Croatia@TheCroatian_ I’ve watched Kovac in the Bundesliga for a long time and believe he has developed further and fits Croatia's new generation. With Stanisic, Vuskovic, Sutalo and Gvardiol, we have a very strong and young defense. Dortmund conceded the fewest goals in the Bundesliga last season.
@fifamedia You want to tell us that Isak's minimal touch in the game against Tunisia was harder than Veiga's? Either your technique is bad or you're trying to cheat us!
@EleModric Football won't be the same without him, and it's unfair that this era ends with such a sad match. I am grateful to have been able to watch the greatest Croatian athlete of all time for so long.
@CroatiaFooty Luka was my hero. It breaks my heart that it ends with a match like this. He has carried Croatia for the last 10 years. Without him, those successes wouldn't have been possible. He is the greatest midfielder of all time. I hope we‘ll see him as our national team coach someday 🥺
@CroatiaFooty A legend who deserved at least one title. A very sad ending. But time moves on and now it is the right moment for the start of a new era. The fact that he recognized this himself commands even more respect from me. Probably the greatest Croatian coach we will ever see.
@HNS_CFF@mateokovacic8@FIFAWorldCup An unjust end for this golden generation. It is hard to let go, and our work feels unfinished. We were lucky in the 4 penalty shootouts of 2018 and 2022 but after that, everything turned against us. 3 heartbreaking defeats: 2023 (Nations League), 2024 (Italy) and now Portugal 💔
@LaguIpin@histoporte_ That’s a poor argument. The rule is intended primarily for situations like the one involving Matanovic. If Matanovic had been offside and then scored following that contact with his hair, he would have been actively involved in the finishing action and thus offside.
@R3sp3ctfu77y@Xevvo_@DexterDavies16@BBCMOTD It’s a shame the sensor didn’t also trigger when the ball flew past Rúben Dias’s arm. Then the match-fixing would have been more obvious.
@CroatianSoccer These days, I only really celebrate goals scored from long range or corners. When it went to 2–2, I just sat calmly on the couch because I already suspected they’d find some reason to disallow the goal. For most goals, the fear of disappointment now outweighs the celebration.
@RefereeC21621 Even if the sensor detects contact, contact with the hair is irrelevant for offside if the ball doesn‘t change its trajectory according to FIFA regulations.
@20220904saki@EiFSoccer The contact made by Openda was barely visible, yet the graph shows a spike three times higher than for Matanovic. The Croatian player touched the ball with his hair, and according to FIFA regulations, hair is not a factor for offside decisions.
