Our study shows that Aqp2 transcription is not solely dependent on CREB1. Instead, any of the three CREB-family transcription factors (ATF1, CREB1, CREM) can drive vasopressin-induced AQP2 expression.
The goal of a PhD is not to learn some facts or read a few papers or learn a bunch of techniques. The goal of a PhD is to learn independence, problem solving, how to finish things you start, resilience, & gain the ability to adapt & think creatively. Learning these things is hard
In Mexico, every medical resident must complete a research thesis to become a certified specialist. While the intention is to promote scientific training, the reality is that many residents are already overwhelmed with clinical duties.
Once residency/fellowship applicants can safely acknowledge their lack of interest in conducting research without torching their job prospects, then we will have entered a new utopia with the perfect balance of physicians, scientists, and physician-scientists. It will be beautiful.
➡️In conclusion our work expands in the regulatory mechanisms of salt transport in the kidney with implications in human physiology and disease.
Huge thanks to everyone involved—it's been a truly rewarding journey. 🙏🤓🧪

➡️Finally, we found that the short isoform TSC22D3 (GILZ) disrupts WNK–TSC22D2–SPAK condensates, inhibiting SPAK phosphorylation.🚫⛔️
This effect is blocked by CRY2-induced oligomerization of TSC22D2, showing a regulatory balance between isoforms.⚖️✅
