If Manchester United had paid Brighton's asking price for Evan Ferguson, you'd have been celebrating like we'd won the league. Fast forward a year, and you'd be in front of your ring light with that chicken pie voice, telling us what a terrible signing he was.

If United had met Everton's valuation for Jarrad Branthwaite, a year later you'd be saying we signed another Lisandro Martinez because of injuries, and that the money should have been spent elsewhere.

When United paid big fees for Jadon Sancho, Antony, your beloved Rasmus Højlund, André Onana, Mason Mount, and others... how did those turn out?
