every person saying âIâve had enough of vegansâ wouldâve been pro-slavery until the majority/status quo stood against it
olâ âI donât stand for anything unless everyoneâs doing itâ head asses
a great test of "would you have been chill with owning slaves, if you'd been born into a slave-owning family" is whether or not you're vegetarian today
Billie Eilish addresses criticism over her statement that âeating meat is inherently wrongâ:
âgo watch a documentary or two and some footage of what is done to the animals u claim to love and what it does to the planet u pretend to love as well. if that footage was hard for u to watch i encourage u to pls take a look at urself. like i am so tired of standing up for/having empathy for living beings being controversial. pls continue to live in a constant state of cognitive dissonance and denial and try to convince urself that ur not living a lie. mwahâ
This stance reliably gets lefty stan accounts enraged because it makes an actual moral demand on the individual instead of locating morality solely in belief and critique. Itâs seen as a threat to an entirely narcissistic mode of engagement with politics.
Vegan presents an interesting paradox for me.
Itâs a foundational and obvious belief to me on par with anti-racism or anti-sexism. Yet it requires the most work out of all my beliefs simply because wider society is complicit in the moral atrocity of meat consumption.
Uncomfortable truth.
Factory farming will continue to exist as long as 8 billion people want affordable meat. Factory farming is not done out of malice, itâs done because itâs efficient.
If you are against factory farming there is no scalable solution other than veganism.
nunca mais me recuperei desse âhe wasnât on the planeâ
