Revisions are done. I'm in the querying trenches again. To keep going, I'll read this note from 3yrs ago, from a Big 5 editor & hope for the best. #amquerying#agents
@booksbysavannah I was thinking twice about coming in here, but curiosity got the best of me, and I'm so glad this was the first thing I saw. Something positive. I'm happy for you.
✨PUBLISHING NEWS✨
Featuring diverse paranormals, Southern Gothic flare, & decadent horror, the incomparable Ace (US) and Gollancz (UK) is publishing the Blood and Magic duology Fall 2025. Immeasurable thanks to Gabrielle Pachon, Tara Hiatt and @HFLane_writing #witchqueenrising
@HFLane_writing Lol. I never thought that. I thought magazine editing would be fun. It was fun for about a month--and then...it wasn't. You can love what you do, but it's still work.
@DelSandeen I don't have a list. I'll be channel surfing, checking out some of the streaming services I subscribe to. The House of Dark Shadows is on now. 🦇
@DBGWrites @TananariveDue is my favorite author. I'm going to read The Reformatory again. It was so good. I'm using it as a masterclass in writing horror--writing novels, period.
@cgossagent A descriptive MSWL is helpful to me, especially when agents mention what they DON'T want to see--even if it's something small like specific character traits. (Sounds strange, but that would've helped me not query a couple of agents.)
