With a third of the vote counted, it looks like Alberta independence is going to be shot down by more than 3-to-1. A disastrous result that should kill the idea for generations. LIFE LESSON: don't call referendums on vital questions to solve internal party management problems.
The Radio 4 adaptation of Stalin's Apostles by Antonia Service starts this morning at 11.45 am, although you can binge listen to all five parts on BBC Sounds already. Hugely looking forward to this. https://t.co/kBlRbwClQJ
We want proof, but God gives us faith. We want instructions to obey, but instead God gives us stories that change how we think . We want security, and God sends us into the world to serve in ways that challenge our abilities and leave us vulnerable. https://t.co/cDSlsYlksb
@maureenhamill@patricks262 No, it isn't a joke. There is a direct connecting bus from Ayr station run by the ferry companies. I have got it half a dozen times in the last 8 years. Why did you accuse me of taking the mick when the screengrab showed you how to check it in Google Maps?
Can a poet fill a basketball arena?
T. S. Eliot did.
This press photograph, taken on 30 April 1956, shows Eliot giving a lecture on ‘The Frontiers of Criticism’ to an audience of 13,723 people at the University of Minnesota’s Williams Arena in Minneapolis.

@not_that_CK@patricks262 The ferry really isn't overpriced for for pedestrian passengers anyway. Taking a car is the expensive bit of GB<->Ireland ferry travel.
@not_that_CK@patricks262 Depends how much luggage you're carrying. Cheaper if you're carrying a couple of bags, like you get included on a transatlantic flight. When I was training for ordination, train from Oxford to Belfast with big bags and a student card was about ⅓ the price of flying via Heathrow.
@patricks262 If you really don't want to fly, you can to GB/Ireland via train and ferry. Much of England to Dublin via Holyhead and Scotland to Belfast via Cairnryan are normal routes. Also S Wales/much of S England to Cork or Waterford via Pembroke Dock and Rosslare.
The Dawgs don't suck this year. 💪
The Dawgs are 4-2 and top of the AFC North. 💪
The Dawgs are top of the division because they beat the 🤢Ravens🤮in an old skool AFC North low scoring slugfest. 💪
