Governor Atingi-Ego gave the keynote at the 3rd edition of the @nemaug National Environmental Sustainability Awards 2026 on Friday. He spoke on the theme ‘Innovation for Climate Resilience,’ saying;

“Climate resilience requires investment at scale—in water systems, resilient infrastructure, clean energy, climate-smart agriculture, circular economy enterprises, and disaster preparedness.

Public resources alone will not be sufficient. We must crowd in private capital, development finance, insurance, local savings, and institutional investment. Banks, insurers, SACCOs, microfinance institutions, and capital markets all have important roles to play in financing Uganda's transition towards a more resilient and sustainable economy.”
