Yeah, they were best friends, but their friendship is very different from the others in the series.Yuji, Megumi, and Nobara push each other to grow stronger, they want to be strong just to catch up with each other but Geto, on the other hand, becomes jealous and insecure as Gojo gets stronger. Even from Hidden Inventory, Gege keeps showing that they’re fundamentally different people.

By JJK 0, Gojo was ready to take Geto down immediately, but Geto stopped him by using his students’ lives as leverage. Gojo also sent Panda and the others because he was worried Geto might kill Yuta. That makes it pretty clear that Gojo knew Geto was willing to hurt his students if it meant achieving his goal.

they’re just best friends who went down different paths, spent 10 years apart, and found new people in their lives. Gojo never denied their friendship, but he also knew things could never go back to the way they were. That’s why Geto is not the one who can pat him at the end , he is a delusional a < what if > but never canon , it’s only the student who can pat him in the end

It honestly feels sad that so many people in the JJK fandom keep twisting Gojo’s character.

What Gege actually wrote is very clear. Gojo cares about guiding the next generation. He doesn’t just train his students to become stronger he genuinely cares about them and has high expectations for their future.

But some fans, especially people who spend all their time reducing characters to memes or those who are biased toward their ship, keep insisting that Gojo only cared about one person or he never cares .To support that idea, they deny how much he cared about everyone else.

Gojo knew there was a distance between himself and other people because of who he was. That distance included his students, his best friend, and everyone else. He understood that no one could truly understand him, so he never expected them to. But that doesn’t mean he was trapped in the past. ( that’s why Yaga is the one ( very rare) who can understand him, Gege ONLY admit this as someone who can understand Gojo)

He always looked toward the future. He wanted strong and intelligent allies who could change the jujutsu world. His dream came from what he experienced in the past, those experiences inspired his goal, they didn’t create it just because of Geto. That’s why Gege said Gojo became a teacher after those events, not for Geto( person) there’s a big difference become a teacher because of a person vs become a teacher because of what he noticed through the event

People love saying Gojo was stuck in the past, but that’s simply not what the manga shows. Even at the airport, it wasn’t only about one person but everyone. And in the final chapter, he’s still talking about his dreams and his hopes for his students. That’s not how someone who can’t move on talks.

If Gojo had truly been unable to move forward, he would’ve kept chasing Geto. Instead, he accepted that Geto had chosen his own path and looked toward the future. He searched for Megumi because he believed in building a better future with the next generation and the manga stated it’s Gojo did that because for future .

Everything I’ve said here comes directly from the manga and from Gege’s own words.

What’s really sad is that so many people ignore what the author actually wrote and instead use Gojo as a tool for their own headcanons. A character Gege spent years writing has been reduced to misinformation spread by people online or just for memes to star discourse but never really they care about the manga or character itself
