@GIFTCity_ Mutual Funds: Performance Snapshot ๐
๐ Here's how the funds available on @GetBelong performed as of June 10, 2026. All returns are in USD, NAV-based.
๐ A down week for every fund, but outbound US funds held up better than the rest.
- The Parag Parikh IFSC NASDAQ 100 FoF and Parag Parikh IFSC S&P 500 FoF both dipped on the 1M, but at -0.80% and -0.68% respectively. Since-inception returns stand at +16.39% and +9.82%.
- The Edelweiss Greater China Equity Fund posted its 3M figure for the first time: +10.29%, matching its since-inception return.
The fund has just cleared its first quarter of track record.
๐ฎ๐ณ Inbound India funds took a harder hit.
- The Sundaram India Mid Cap Fund dropped to -4.61% on the 1M. Since inception still holds at +5.95%.
- The Tata India Dynamic Equity Fund fell to -4.30% on the 1M. Its 6M return is now visible for the first time: -11.40%.
๐ The DSP Global Equity Fund remains the outlier. With 3M and 6M data available, it continues to trail across all timeframes: 3M at -1.06%, 6M at -6.78%, since inception at -7.65%.
Most of these funds are still in their early stages. The data is directional, not definitive.

Philippines NRIs could pay 0% tax on their India investment gains.
Not because of a special scheme.
Not because of a tax treaty.
Just because of how the tax systems of the Philippines and GIFT City happen to work together.
One country doesn't tax the gain. The other may not tax it either.
A thread on how it works ๐

The biggest risk of investing in SpaceX may not be its stock. Here's why.
Most investors know about capital gains and dividend taxes while investing in US stocks.
๐ Far fewer know about US Estate Tax. And for your family, it could matter more than the stock's price after you're gone.
If you own US-situated assets and live outside the US, your family may face estate taxes above just $60,000 in US assets owned by you.
That's a very different reality from US residents, who enjoy much higher exemptions of up to $15 million.
The result?
An investor can spend years building a US portfolio, only for heirs to discover a tax issue they never planned for.
๐ The estate tax outcome can also vary depending on whether your country of residence has an Estate Tax Treaty with the US, significantly affecting the exemption available to investors.
See the infographic below to know:

Why is investing in India still a regulatory headache for many NRIs?
The challenge isn't a lack of opportunities. It's structure.
This is especially true for US-based NRIs, where PFIC rules and complex tax reporting requirements have made investing in Indian funds far more complicated than it should be.
That's where funds like ABSL India Flexicap Fund (IFSC) in @GIFTCity_ change the conversation (live on @GetBelong).
๐ In GIFTed Insights Ep. 18, Mr. Sudhir S, Fund Manager of the ABSL India Flexicap Fund (IFSC), joins @nayak_pallav to discuss:
โ How the fund is structured for global investors
โ Fund's K-1 reporting for US NRIs and how it helps address PFIC concerns
โ The fund's flexicap strategy across large, mid, and small-cap stocks
โ Risks, liquidity, and investor suitability

Most NRIs say they want to retire in India.
But are they choosing India consciously, or simply because it feels like the obvious answer?
The challenge is that the India many NRIs imagine retiring in is often the India they left behind decades ago.
Meanwhile, both they and the country have changed in ways that are easy to underestimate.
๐ This week in The Capital, we explore reverse culture shock, the retirement decision-making process of one global Indian couple, and a simple framework for evaluating where should be retirement.

0% tax in India. 0% tax in Ireland. No loophole. Just tax law.
For some Ireland-based NRIs, @GIFTCity_ mutual funds could mean paying absolutely 0% tax on India investment gains.
