I think his take was that these people aren't really for open weight ecosystem flourishing. They are just worried about them not being the winners. Anyone with a half a brain cell realizes it is extremely scary to release a model as open weights if it can perform cyber attacks. And the models are only going to get stronger from here.

@TheZvi For AI research questions I like talking to it less than Fable. In terms of doing other things Opus 4.8 had already saturated my needs. I dislike how convoluted the writing is for both Opus 5 and Fable 5. It is now more difficult to understand them than ever before

Especially since the advent of Donald Trump. The biggest risk to America is the system that made America an envy of the world collapsing and we are doing an awful lot to test the system right now.

The biggest test will be whether Donald Trump leaves after his term is over or he refuses to do so. And when he does is the current system capable of removing him forcefully?

I was beginning to think he is thinking of leaving by himself but his recent speech and lack of interest in making republicans win the mid term elections have convinced me otherwise.

@teortaxesTex Yeah all these CEOs are quite worried about one or two labs which is not them winning this race. To me personally I feel open sourcing super powerful models seems very scary. It only takes one crazy person to use it to hack a big company or release a very dangerous virus.

I know. But to be honest most of the item I just issue tasks either way either for Fable and Opus and look a little while later. Neither are fast enough for synchronous conversation. When I want to search online I just https://t.co/pu0dpWPyRx which is the fastest, free and quite good for that.

@TheZvi I wonder if they did anything on purpose to not elicit this capability because that would bring about a lot of scrutiny. My prior is no. Also it would be hard to do this but it is strange that is beats everywhere else but doesn't have this capability.

@polynoamial @littmath I have a strong hunch grabbing the low hanging fruit this time is not going to matter much. I say spend quality time with your loved ones and enjoy life. If possible make and save as much money as you can (might not matter but maybe worth a shot).
