@unbiasedasshole@LibertarianLars I think the problem is there is one winner and a huge number of losers no matter what system is implemented. The losers are forced to move toward the winning position. This creates the duopoly because the lesser parties are made to look fractious and insincere unless co-opted.
Landmarks:
1881: Offenbach’s wind-up opera doll, Olympia (mechanical love)
1927: Parody Maria of Fritz Lang’s Metropolis (manufactured consciousness)
1985: Code Lisa of Weird Science (home-brew fantasy)
2017: Joi from Bladerunner (marketing gimmick)
2026: AI Sidney Sweeney
@unbiasedasshole@LibertarianLars The two party system is a natural result of first-past-the-post electoral rules, which forces a binary polarization over time.
Do you have a better system in mind?
Accept my hostility as a sign of my depth, love me despite my refusal to be vulnerable, and never hold me accountable for pushing you away.
You know, or else.
@Owennfa Why didn’t your friend employ himself toward starting a business during the three year break from being a wage slave? It’s his own fault for participating in a system that’s designed to waste his time.
@amitylee13 The problem is too many walls maintained by the government. The state creates a maze of authorities for any single property and calls the set up “security” because no single faction can ever have a chance to truly dominate the other interests—infuriating.
@BladeoftheS Why pay medical bills? Wait until your debt is sold to a third party, then challenge the line of witnesses. They can’t introduce the original record of debt as that’s double-hearsay.
After the debt is declared invalid, wipe the delinquency from your credit report—easy peasy.
@amitylee13 Do you own every property?
The property owner will tell you what to do under libertarianism. They can do whatever they want to you. On their property, they enforce their own rules; you get no say.
