@mandyarthur What a beautiful story! My dad was not my bio dad either. He was not a great dad, but I think he did the best he knew. He taught me to swim and to fish. He will always be my dad, rest his soul.
@Martina That is funny. I might actually watch it to see Rosie. Used to like her show. If she is all over politics though, I won't be watching. We get enough of that on the news. I don't find it entertaining.
@UkNoWmEGregyP@piersmorgan They say our brains are not fully developed until 25. Thinking back on some of the decisions I made before that, I believe it. It should be unethical for doctors to permanently disrupt your natural body functions until your brain is fully developed at least.
Yeah, make that make sense! That was my first thought when I heard about the new law. Kids can't use social media under 16 because it MIGHT have a bad influence on them, but they can do things to their bodies that WILL have devastating health consequences for life. The world has gone nuts.
It hit hard for me too. I did not actually follow Charlie. I had seen some of his videos and admired his logical way of debating - telling truths in an unyielding but kind way. It was just unthinkable that such a good and brave young man was cut down in that way - and that anyone could be glad about it. It was like I woke up to how cruel "ordinary" people could be that day. Teachers, nurses, all kinds of people spewing hate. So sad.
No. It is a recognition of a small subset to use June teenth as the name to celebrate the emancipation. It is the stupidest name ever for a federal holiday. It was done to cater to activists that are hell bent on keeping racial division alive. I have African DNA, and most likely a slave ancestor and many family who fought for their freedom - some who gave their own lives. I celebrate the emancipation - not a holiday that was designated for political reasons.
@truecorrective@WilliamShatner Agree, and I hate the name. I don't know why they could not have at least picked a name that represents the reason the day is celebrated. It would have no meaning at all if not for the emancipation. That is the important day.
Busy muting accounts that only post fake stories or really stupid questions. There is far too much of it here. Some of these accounts have thousands of followers. How? People really want to see this garbage? Maybe that is a stupid question...π
@gman5180 No. But I would not visit any of them. If I travel to see things, they must be more interesting than that. I love museums...but art museums, historical museums, etc. Presidential library - no thanks.
@AdamtrendHQ The ability to think for themselves and balance issues instead of following the herd based on emotional response to things they don't like.
@JosieWeinblass@w_terrence I can't understand why anyone wants to be called queer. It was always an insult for something weird. Why did they choose that word?
@Punky198411@mattvanswol Yes, it is scary. But if it is on the internet through the social security records, then they know he is dead and the government will know someone has taken it. They used to reuse them many years ago - I have the number of a dead person. But they don't reuse them anymore.
