He was arrested today at around 11:30 a.m. by plainclothes security officer while sitting and working on his laptop at Yohannes Hotel. It’s as if these victims never existed. This layered betrayal—violation, silencing, then erasure by systems meant to protect—adds compounding agony, deepening wounds that feel unspeakable.

What intensifies the pain is the widespread denial and abandonment of accountability—not just by some of the political, military, and economic elites of Tigray but also the support to the grand whitewash scheme by international institutions once trusted to uphold justice.

Tigray remains tragically engulfed in a profound crisis stemming from the TPLF’s internal political decay, characterized by rampant corruption and destructive infighting.

Over three years ago, the genocidal war on #Tigray devastated my life in ways I can never fully describe. The relentless nightmare I lived through left scars that will never fade. Even when I was promoted to full professor during that period, there was no joy in the achievement as it was overshadowed by the ongoing destruction.

Now, I am committed to doing everything in my power to prevent another war, particularly one fueled by the aggressive actions of the #TPLF and its clique of army leaders.

I will not remain silent. I will expose anyone who through media or social media seeks to incite conflict, directly or indirectly.
