She was the Finance Commissioner in Ogun State...
When it was time, Ogun stakeholders that she worked with in Government and at party level picked her as a good representative from Ogun as their Ministerial slot and "donated" her to President Buhari....Buhari made her Finance Minister.

Those who brought her in, felt that's a good risk, now "we" had a good foothold inside.....Alas, Kemi Adeosun began to "chop their eyes" and became a gatekeeper. Buhari noticed that in her and backed her up with everything she needed and she became bold to stop any unlawful whatever.....

How did she serve as Finance Commissioner in Ogun? The people at home "helped" her to process the NYSC Certificate....Note NYSC is not an academic Cert to prove how sound you are or to show that you passed through Tertiary education, there are several people till date that chose not to do NYSC, it was a certificate of participation which many before and after her have chosen by choice not to do since they don't need it in their location....She was not accused of forging any of her academic records in School, but Certificate of participation in NYSC was the Banana peel they set ahead....

I'm not aware of any Diaspora that served in Govt since 1999 before her who had NYSC cert, not former Finance Minister and Economy coordinator, not a former Senate President, They're numerous...

So those who brought her in pulled the rug off her feet, ex Governors were on her case, those who couldn't put their hands into the Cookie jar easily aligned and since the real heat was coming from her people in the South West, it was easy to get her out of the way.....That was the end of Whistleblower policy also...

And CBN man could get hold of everything easily.....
And AGF man could get hold of everything easily....
And different people could get hold of the cookie jar easily, now that the other person to fill in the gap was just minding her business 🤣🤣

I still missed her and her determination to sanitize the system that already set banana peel on her path to remove her if she overstepped her boundary, and they did when she did anyway...

Simple explanation for everybody no grammar

Let me break it down like small pikin.

WHAT IS TAX?
Tax simply means:Government saying If you make money, small small help us with some.

❌ It is NOT:
Government stealing your money
Government collecting your savings
Government entering your bank to carry money

IF YOU ARE JUST A NORMAL PERSON for example Salary earner, trader, student, hustler.

If you don’t make much money, government will not tax you.
If you earn ₦800,000 or less in one year, YOU PAY ZERO TAX.

Example:
If you sell pure water, pepper, clothes, or you’re a student you are safe.

THEY WILL TAX MY BANK ACCOUNT ❌❌❌

THIS IS A BIG LIE.

Government CANNOT:
Take money from your bank
Tax your savings
Tax money people send you

They only tax income (money you work for).

Bank account is not taxable. Income is.

WHY THEY ARE ASKING FOR TIN

TIN means Tax Identification Number.

TIN is Your name tag, not your ATM pin.

Banks will ask for it so government can:
Know who is earning money
Stop rich people from hiding

TIN does not allow them to take your money.

IF YOU HAVE A SMALL BUSINESS like Business name / shop / online sales

Government looks at profit, not your capital.
Example: You sell goods for ₦500,000
You spend ₦450,000 on goods, rent, fuel, transport.

Your profit is ₦50,000
That small money is what tax looks at

If profit is small: You pay little or nothing.

They don’t tax stress. They tax profit.

IF YOU ARE A BIG BUSINESS / BIG EARNER

Yes — you will pay more tax.
And that is fair.

Reason be that those who have more should help more.

IF YOU COLLECT SALARY (PAYE)

If your company already deducts tax:
✔ nothing new
✔ no extra tax
✔ no double payment

You are already doing the right thing.

If you make money:

•side hustle

You should declare it.

But know this that small earners are protected. nobody taxes your bank balance
