He agreed, but he still believes in helping people whenever he can.

Fast forward, I got to my destination safely. Before getting down, I thanked him sincerely and prayed that God would continue to bless him.

That really struck me. It was such a simple yet powerful way of looking at kindness.

I told him it was a beautiful thing he was doing, although I also advised him to be careful because of how dangerous the world has become.

He explained that whether he picked someone up or not, he would still use the same amount of fuel to get to his destination. So why not help someone along the way? He added that many people drive around alone with empty seats while others struggle to find transportation.

He also said he always feels pity for people standing at bus stops waiting for transportation. I couldn’t help but laugh to myself and think, “So this man simply pitied me?”😅

But what really caught my attention was what he said next.

During our conversation, he mentioned that he hardly gives ladies a lift. According to him, if his car were to break down, a man would most likely stay behind to help, whereas a lady would simply board another car and continue her journey😂.

I then noticed there was a lady seated in the front passenger seat. She remained quiet throughout the journey while the driver and I had an interesting conversation. That somehow made me a little uneasy, and I kept wondering why she never said a word.🤷🏽‍♂️

As I got into d car, my mind was flooded wit questions. Why wld a complete stranger stop to giv me a lift?🤔Did he knw me already? 🧐Was it becuz I was dressed professionally?😎Would he have offered me the ride if I had been casually dressed?🥋nd most importantly, am I even safe?

At first, I thought he was talking to someone else, so I looked behind me. He smiled and confirmed that he was talking to me. I told him I was heading to Circle, and he simply said, “Come in, I’ll drop you off.”

I’m saying this bcuz of a rare act of kindness I experienced today on my way home from an appointment. I was at the St. John’s bus stop waiting for a trotro to Circle when a white Corolla pulled up in front of me. The driver rolled down his window and asked where I was heading.

Watever d answer may be, everyone has their own opinion. Personally, I believe kindness shouldn’t be based on wat we stand to gain. We shld be kind regardless. If we all lived this way, I believe there wld be far less corruption, greed, dishonesty, and even theft in our society.
