Wetland Soils and Greenhouse Gas Exchange at University of Waterloo, Geography and Environmental Management. Wetland ecology, hydrology, biogeochemistry, soils
2024 is the year of my grand entrance into the world of “sci-com”, winning the ‘Bake Your Research’ competition, best graduate poster at UW’s World Wetlands Day conference, and the GRADflix social impact award. Thank you to the @GhgLab members for the endless support 💚🩵🤍
For #WorldWetlandsDay2024 the Wetland Soils and Greenhouse Gas Exchange Lab presents our latest production "Carbon"

Was nice to finally present some of my MSc work after finishing in 2021 when conferences were on pause!
Now on to swamps... Maybe seismic line restoration in swamps, one day?! 🤔 @wetland_GHG@peateco@ScootJD
New Post Doctoral Fellow position available at Wilfrid Laurier University to study the eco-hydrological impacts of wildfire at Scotty Creek, NWT, Canada. #wildfire#wetlands#Boreal#climate#hydrology
It's #WorldWetlandsDay2023. Come enjoy a wander in the wetlands with us and learn your fate!
All you need is a 6-sided die and some way to mark your progress. Follow the hyperlinks for some fun wetland facts along the way.

We're super excited to be back to a full summer of fieldwork this year. Throughout the month of May we've installed close to 150 plots for measuring GHG fluxes in peatlands across Canada. #WorldPeatlandsDay
Happy World Wetlands Day 2022!
In keeping with tradition, we present to you:
Fen-Tastic Folk and Where to Find Them!!
Let us know which one (or many) species you have in your lab!!
Sound on for the fabulous narration!!
There are some promising amendments coming for Policy 33, which will explicitly list retaliation as a violation of the policy. The love language for #URGeoscience is policy. More work needs to be done to make the complaint process transparent, safe, and not harmful. (3/3)
#URGeoscience pod report: Complaints and Reporting Policies @UWaterloo. We summarized complaint procedures for unethical behavior, including racism or sexual harassment. We mention the role of @GSA_UWaterloo in amending policies. Deliverables here https://t.co/t2mGeAeH13 (1/3)
Pro: there are many offices/contacts to seek help. Con: there’s no one streamlined complaint/reporting process. Further, contacts may dissuade you from making a complaint, or exacerbate harm. UW does not report the num of Policy 33 complaints filed each year, or outcomes. (2/3)
