Years ago, I was nearly mugged in Las Vegas on business.
I managed to escape through situational awareness and dumb luck.
The incident reminds me to be aware of threats I face today.
Now, threats are usually not so immediate, but have to do with health, wealth and legacy.

An afternoon visiting cancer patients is hugely rewarding.

Like anything worthwhile, it takes time and effort.

Cancer:
Clarifies important priorities.
Surprises everyone it touches.
Is not payback for bad decisions.
Brings sudden focus to one’s future.

@kim03writes I took a job as a sales manager once. I didn't want it, but if I didn't take it, the job would be given to someone who would not adapt to it as well as I thought I could. I took the job and adapted. Not perfect, but we made it work.

I have often told customers: "I am sorry I made that mistake. I'm just glad I got that mistake out of the way, so that now we can proceed."
A little humility demonstrates confidence and makes a relationship genuine.
