At the Kanyaratna Diwas programme at Dhanadhanya Auditorium, Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Suvendu Adhikari launched several important initiatives aimed at strengthening the safety, education and empowerment of girls and women.
Under the Kanyaratna Education Grant, more than 10 lakh girl students will receive financial assistance.
The ‘Palna’ Creche initiative was also launched to support working women, along with the new 181 Helpline service dedicated to women’s safety.

Following a precise operation based on source based information, Birbhum Police conducted a major raid under Mohammad Bazar PS targeting the hideout of illegal sand mafia Tullu Mondal alias Mohd Nazibuddin.
The operation has uncovered staggering amounts of illegally amassed wealth:
Cash Recovered So Far: ₹5.5 crore with counting still ongoing.
Gold Recovered: 15 kg

राहुल ग��ंधी ने जिन मुद्दों पर चर्चा की शर्त रखी, उन्हें भी स्वीकार किया गया। लेकिन दुर्भाग्य देखिए कि नेता प्रतिपक्ष जैसे पद पर बैठा व्यक्ति अपने ही उठाए हुए विषयों से पीछे हट गया। इससे उनकी अपरिपक्वता स्पष्ट रूप से झलकती है।

Today, I held an important meeting at the New Secretariat in Kolkata with the management and representatives of the trade unions of two major jute mills in the Barrackpore industrial belt - Prabartak Jute Mill Ltd. (Kamarhati) and AI Champdani Industries Ltd. (Fine Yarn Unit, Jagatdal).

After extensive and constructive discussions, it was unanimously decided that both mills will resume operations from Monday, 27 July 2026, and begin full-scale production at the earliest.

Our Government's objective is not merely to reopen industries, but to ensure that industrial growth goes hand in hand with the welfare and rights of workers. Accordingly, the managements were clearly advised to ensure timely payment of all statutory dues, including PF, ESI, wages, and other legal entitlements of the workers.

With the reopening of a total of 10 jute mills in the Barrackpore industrial belt over the past month, nearly 20,000 workers and more than one lakh dependent family members have received renewed hope and financial security.

Guided by the vision of Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi Ji to realise "Viksit Bangla, Viksit Bharat", and under the leadership of Hon'ble Chief Minister Shri @SuvenduWB , we remain committed to industrial revival, employment generation, and safeguarding the dignity and welfare of every worker.
