@ShekharGupta This is similar to Jyoti Basu’s policy of banning English till Grade VI. This just increases the class divide. People who can afford it will move their children to IB.
@protosphinx@AlexeiArora This is the man who took business cash flows to promoters’ and investors’ pockets instead of investing in innovation or product development. He was happy to rely on wage arbitrage. Someone should tell him what worked in the 1990s doesn’t work in the 2020s.
@Akshat_World Nope. Three countries in the Indian subcontinent have existed for almost eight decades without any people to people contact. Yet, they have the same sense of lack of civic sense. It’s in our culture for centuries. Can’t be changed easily. The loons too come from the same place.
@Akshat_World Add to this, people leaving India for good don’t need to go through LRS. They are taking all their money in NRE/NRO accounts out of India.
@vikramchandra@USAmbIndia@narendramodi Other than the rhetoric, what has actually come from these statements? There are no jobs being created. Over the past decade, delivery platforms have been the only generators of employment, largely gig jobs. I don’t see any source of qualityp employment on the horizon.
@ravihanda Are you really expecting anything else? It’ll be a few weeks of token action and carefully staged outrage until everyone moves on. They’re counting on public memory being short and on people lacking the resolve to sustain pressure long enough to force real consequences.
