SUPREME COURT OF NIGERIA isn’t a joke. I read a very disturbing ruling of the court against a lawyer this morning and I was so shocked and as the same time shameful. The Supreme Court has warned lawyers many times in the past to desist from filing frivolous applications in an attempt to secure appearances before it. Unless the ruling is upturned or waved by the adverse party, I doubt if the lawyer can afford the cost awarded against him.
I must say, the court isn’t your regular village head-gathering where you’re not bound by any rules. As a lawyer, your relationship with the court must be prioritised over that of your client. Once you’re marked by the court as a bad-practice lawyer you would hardly find the mercy of the court in your subsequent matters before it.
In the instance case, the client can’t wait to get another lawyer to handle his future matters while the other battles to regain his RIGHT OF AUDIENCE.
Alhamdulillah!
I have been officially cleared by @OfficialAPCNg to contest for the Gombe Governorship in 2027.
This is not about me, it’s about our shared future and a better Gombe for all.
I remain deeply grateful to my leader, @HEInuwaYahaya, for his visionary leadership, and to @officialABAT for strengthening our party nationally.
Together, we will build on progress, uplift every community, and move Gombe forward.
Let’s stay united. The journey has just begun.
