Fortuitous Friday (again)
Found another one of these 1982 GIJoe Membership Club posters, not an easy one to come across & looks great framed.
Anyone have one of these?
Received the first of a couple really neat #GIJoe preproduction materials. Resin model of Stalker V2’s kayak. I never had the first version, so I was really glad when this came out BITD!
Fortuitous Friday (again.)
Four Canadian cards that I came across months ago & added them to the MOC bins… Zarana, Budo, Astro Viper & Muskrat. The Zarana doesn’t pop up every day!
Really cool addition to the ‘Joe comics library- this is a copy of a CGC 9.6 GIJoe #1 that belonged to Nel Yomtov when he worked in Marvel Licensing which would have been given by him to potential clients for licensing before there was any other material to use to showcase the GIJoe brand back in 1982.
Here’s both of the Canadian boxes- Sealed examples of the “schizophrenic” box & the “corrected” one.
This is one of those weird situations where many people think that the recalled one is the sought after one when in reality the corrected box / card is much, much rarer, both in US & Canadian releases.
Had to take one of my Sons to an AA Hockey Showcase in Calgary for the weekend and I’m always on the lookout- found this near-mint Canadian FANG box and a MOC Canadian Pièdéclair! (Lightfoot.)
I love finding Canadian ‘Joe stuff in the wild, still in 2026!
Arthur Adams Original Art Sketch Baroness 9.8 Cobra Commander #1 blank- what an incredible cover.
In a world of ridiculous Baroness fetish lovers Art Adams does it right. So beautiful.
@GIJoeRepairShop I did bid.
I didn’t bid that much- I have three of them already with one MIB.
I couldn’t justify that when I have the others. That would have been about $45,000 Canadian with the buyers premium & taxes. 😬
Picked up a MOC Canadian Battle Android Trooper originally sold at a Hart Department Store in Montreal in 1986.
This particular BAT(S) has its lenticular sticker still attached, is offerless and unpunched. I have a few of these & personally love this iteration of the BAT!
Here’s one of my favourite Dreadnoks.
I loved how Larry Hama depicted Donald in the comics- and this is one of the cool times that his “Code Name” is cool in English but even cooler in French.
"Salopard" is a French vulgar noun used to describe a despicable, unscrupulous person who acts in a vile manner, akin to "bastard," "scumbag," or "scoundrel" in English. It is a highly derogatory term used as an insult, often referring to someone with poor moral character.
It’s perfect! Anyone else a Road Pig / Salopard fan?
Was incredibly happy to pick these very early, very special 9 back American MOCs from Sears back in 1982. If you know, you know. I’ll be doing a bigger post about them in the future.
Going through boxes that came in the mail all last year.
Picked up this Mexican Vagabundo… it’s kind of cool that they sold Footloose as Grunt down there who was his actual replacement in the figure line.
I really like the Auriken boxes. Anyone else have love for Mexican Joes?
