Just for clarity, we are only planning on making some critical updates to the current site. The suggestions and feedback here will be fed into the new version of the site, which is being built from scratch to replace the existing one.
@StarShotDesign Hi DiDi, the tags system will be completely overhauled in the new version of the website and we'll add your feedback to our list of things to keep in mind when developing it. Thanks :)
Hi everyone, we are aware of a couple of small downtimes that have happened recently and we are working on fixing the root cause of the problem. Sorry for any inconvenience!
@Trubisky6rings Hi @Trubisky6rings, thanks for bringing this to our attention. We'll make sure the duplicate categories are correctly merged when we transfer old stores to the new site :)
@RusseVint@sheograth10 Could you provide a screenshot of the error (or just the text of the message)? I have a suspicion that this is to do with how the old site processes the update form data and is too much to fix, but you never know!
@RusseVint Thanks Vintovka, I think I know why this is happening. I'm not sure it will be fixed in the current site, but it definitely won't reappear in the new one!
@adamantgts Interactive stories are something that a few people have requested already, so it's definitely something that we are looking into, although it requires some technical consideration, so it might be a feature that arrives slightly later on :) 2/2
@adamantgts Hi @adamantgts, you can already insert images on the current site by using the TinyMCE editor built in to the site. We will be supporting a rich editor in the new version, so the ability to include images will be continued with that. 1/2
@leah_size Hi @leah_size, this is definitely something that will be addressed in the new version. In the meantime, if you want one of your stories removed from the site, please feel free to send us a DM :)
@RusseVint of support for it in the templates. I'm not sure that it's a feature that will be carried over to the new version, unless it's something that authors tell us that they would find useful :) 2/2
@RusseVint Hi @RusseVint, that's a feature in the underlying software that runs the current version of the site. I think it was designed more for fanfiction sites that might have stories writte about existing characters. I don't think Asukafan ever implemented it for GW, hence the lack 1/2
@mightytinygiant when setting it up, because it's so recognisable by users of the site. The new site will have a complete revamp visually, as well as the code behind-the-scenes, so I think this image will live on only as an easter egg! 2/2
@mightytinygiant Hi @mightytinygiant, the current site hasn't really been updated visually in over a decade because no-one was really caring for it! There is a completely new team behind the site now, and we don't plan to leave it as neglected :) We kept the image as the PFP for this account 1/2
@cloudjumper40k In the meantime, you can adjust the text size in stories on the current site using the Text Size +/- links at the top of the story pages :)
@cloudjumper40k Hi @cloudjumper40k, we are planning for the new version to have both light and dark modes. Code for changing the text size has already been implemented, so hopefully that issue will be solved for you in the new site :)
@DemiGodDesh Hi @DemiGodDesh, the new version of the site will hopefully be significantly better on mobile. Sadly most of the current templates predate mobile browsing! You should be able to select the "Mobile" template as your default from your "Edit Preferences" page in the meantime :)
