This morning, I was honored to accept the Rotary Club of Hampton Roads 2022 Educator of the Year Award. I'm proud to represent Virtual Virginia, the Virginia Department of Education, my students, and their families as the first online teacher to win this award! #virtualVirginia
🎓🌍 Diplomacy in action at VBCPS! Our students got a taste of international policy-making at a mock European Union Council debate, facilitated by Virginia Tech's Center for European and Transatlantic Studies (CEUTS) at Tallwood High School. 🏫 @TallwoodLions@OceanLakesHS
A big shout-out to educators Kate LaRoue from Tallwood High and Lisa Gibson from Ocean Lakes High for bringing together over 50 of our students for this immersive experience.
They simulated the process of EU nations establishing policies on immigration and artificial intelligence.🤖🌐

@matheeli We got notified today in my school district we get one personal day of leave since Governor Northam made Juneteenth a paid holiday for state employees. We can’t take the actual day due to our school calendar.
I appreciate my former students who keep in touch! I was honored to attend, via Zoom, Jake’s senior thesis defense today at William & Mary. His work is entitled “The Metaphysics of Gender”. (Jake B., @Tallwood HS Class of 2017) #AlwaysRootForMyStudents#teacherlife#proudteacher
