Jonathan battled a full-blown Boko Haram insurgency. Buhari confronted terrorism, banditry, mass kidnappings, and separatist violence.

Tinubu inherited many of these long-standing security problems. Whether one supports him or not, it is important to acknowledge that insecurity in Nigeria did not start in 2023.

The real question is not who inherited the problem, but who is taking meaningful steps to solve it.
