In May 2016, Jacob Zuma visited Eskom to announce the end of loadshedding.
(5 months later, Thuli Madonsela released the State of Capture report alleging corruption at Eskom)
In 2019 the President cut his trip to Egypt to deal with an “unprecedented” stage 6 load shedding, three years later he does the same cutting his trip to the United States of America at UNGA short. What has changed at Eskom since that “unprecedented” stage 6 of 2019?
@SizweLo We lack the giraffe vision in this country with quickest resolutions that will later bite us into hell. People must not wish for Privatisation unless they aimed at unled revolution in this country.
Before 1994, there was no loadshedding because most people did not have electricity. After privatisation there will be no loadshedding because most people won't afford electricity.
@karynmaughan Remember we have the weakest Mental Health Institutions in our country since more than 6,5million people require assistance from them. I forsee lots of suicides due to all these societal challenges including the loadshedding that's happening now.
South Africa is a traumatic and traumatised country.
But forcing people to live their lives in the dark and cold - without respite or solution - can only be intensifying our nation’s mental health crisis.
