April 28th, 1934, is the birthday of American YA novelist Lois Duncan (I Know What You Did Last Summer), who once wrote: “Sit down every day and DO IT. Writing is a self-taught craft; the more you work at it, the more skilled you become. And when you're not writing, READ.”
Alredered Remembers Lois Duncan Steinmetz,American writer, novelist, poet, and journalist, best known for her young-adult novels, on her birthday.
"Life continues, and we all of us keep changing and building, toward what we cannot know".- Lois Duncan

When I was growing up, my favorite author to read was Lois Duncan. Her thrillers were the reason my love of Stephen King, horror movies and all things scary came to be, Last night, I found my books in the attic of my childhood home. I have no clue how they got there! #loisduncan
@OdenealJamie@ambernoelle My dad used to yell at me for reading and say I was weird. Luckily my mom was a reader and encouraged it. Authors like Lois Duncan were a bridge for me to adult books.
Lois Duncan was my favorite author when I was around 10/11. There was a bookstore in the town where my mom bought groceries and I would beg her to go to the bookstore so I could buy another Lois Duncan book.
I was also disturbed that Lois Duncan's teen horror books been rewritten, with letters replaced with cell phones, internet, email, & text. Part of the pleasure of reading books is learning about the past, its attitudes, events, material culture, & daily life.
@RyanForEQUALITY I love the movie too. And the book. In fact I love Lois Duncan and all of her books that I’ve read. Her hate of the movie is notorious, but I get why she hates it.
Guest @Patrick_Ehlers (@NinCartSociety, @ShippleDips), joins @kellynugee for Lois Duncan's TWISTED WINDOW! An idiot accidentally kidnaps a child & jealousy of a stuffed animal is the funniest twist in history.

@cultmenephila same. I knew all the librarians and always did the summer reading programs or book clubs or whatever. I met Lois Duncan at the library once and she signed a napkin for me that said “don’t mop up gravy with this”. I lost it in a house fire … one of the few things I really miss
@sophiahelix Oh my god you just unearthed my memories of Darkangel.
Also I remember when Lois Duncan was grouped into the children’s (!) book category in stores …
