Our age needs men and women who have the courage to do good even when it comes at a cost. Draw close to those who are alone, support those who are weary, and seek out those who have drifted away. Have the courage to forgive, to begin again, and to engage in dialogue.
There exists a martyrdom of those who offer their lives in a single moment, and the more hidden martyrdom of those who give their lives day after day. This is exactly what all Christians are called to do: to give our lives with love, every day.
From 1 to 7 October, “Aid to the Church in Need” is promoting “A Million Children Praying the Rosary” initiative for peace and unity in the world. I wholeheartedly thank all the boys and girls who are joining in this prayer in so many parts of the world. Let us all follow their example, invoking the intercession of the Virgin Mary so that peoples may be freed from the scourge of war. In particular, let us pray for the Holy Land and for the innocent victims of violence.

At today’s General Audience, Pope Leo XIV renewed his call for Catholics around the world to pray the Holy Rosary throughout October—especially for an end to war and for peace among peoples in conflict.
He first made this appeal in Lourdes, and today he again encouraged the faithful to make the Rosary a prayer for peace.
Let’s do it. One Rosary at a time, united in prayer for our world.

As he returned to Rome from Metz on Monday evening, Pope Leo XIV reflected on the many blessings and presence of God's grace during his Apostolic Journey to France.
"I felt very blessed myself to have the privilege to visit France to encourage especially young people who are obviously searching for something."
