In honor of Elon and Vivek being picked as the heads of Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), here some of the dumbest uses of your tax dollars.
5. $20,000 to drag shows in Ecuador.
4. $30,000 to study the secret language of butchers in Paris.
3. $750,000 for the New York Metropolitan Opera fire alarm.
2. $350,000 to develop AI smart toilets.
1. $660,000 to study the impact that COVID had on Russian women.
No, Donald Trump is not distancing himself from me!
Fake news!
We're in Mara Lago having dinner talking about cabinet picks!
@realDonaldTrump@RobertKennedyJr
Or.... now hear me out. People refuse to buy the shirt coming from China and buys the one made in America, so China decides to make the shirt in the U.S. instead.
It's the long game, not a quick fix.
Chin up, team. Take some time. Take care of yourself. Take care of your loved ones. Take care of your community.
There are a million ways to make a difference—get back in the fight when you’re ready.
And know that, whenever you are ready, I’ll be ready to get back in with you.
Washington state has many serious social and economic problems and it's profoundly disappointing that instead of focusing on those problems as a first priority, Governor-elect @BobFergusonAG is choosing to go to war with the Federal government.
Bob: Washingtonians, whether Republican, Democrat, or independent, just want good governance in our state.
We want safe communities where the blight of homelessness doesn't affect our families and where drug addiction isn't a scourge on our cities.
We want our kids to have the best education possible. A recent report showed that a shocking 72% of 8th graders are not proficient in math*, while we have one of the highest costs per student to educate our children. Something is terribly broken in our public education system.
We want economic policies that attract the best and brightest to our state rather than causing them to flee in record numbers (13,000+ households have left the state since it passed a capital gains tax, including the world's wealthiest person. This is not something to celebrate but should be deeply concerns to all of us).
We want you to focus on US, your fellow Washingtonians, NOT the Federal government. Please also have the humility to consider that the policies that were chosen under the Inslee-Ferguson administration have not solved these problems but exacerbated them.
How about start with cleaning up Seattle.
Stop coddling and creating the garbage that have overrun our once beautiful city.
Human 💩 on the sidewalk has lost its luster.
I will lead a government that protects our core freedoms.
That makes the lives of Washingtonians better.
That cuts down on bureaucracy getting in the way of serving the people.
That makes our community safer and healthier.
That works for the people, not special interests.
And that generates more opportunities for the next generation of Washingtonians.
Tarrifs are certainly not a quick fix.
They would be good for us in the long game, but four years isn't that long.
Tariffs create a shift in the economy that would bring manufacturing back to the U.S., but four years is not long enough to make all that happen.
My MAGA neighbor five minutes ago: “I just read that tariffs are going to raise prices for stuff. I don’t get it. I thought China was going to pay them.”
I explained how tariffs work. I wish you could see the look on the guy’s face when it sunk in.
So much ignorance out there.
Ya know.... they did him dirty.
I wonder, as he goes off into the sunset, if he isn't just a little gratified at the outcome.
Looks pretty dam happy here.
Happy Retirement @JoeBiden
@therabbithole If it weren’t for X, we wouldn’t have gotten the information through the legacy media. We learned the truth through this platform and it opened up a lot of eyes.
Thank you, Elon Musk
What's notable about the Trump victory is that it happened despite biased Legacy Media coverage.
New Media, like 𝕏 and podcasts, helped circumvent the narrative gatekeepers so people could hear the other side.
I'm not sure if this outcome would have been possible otherwise.
@suddenlysobbing And yet those that voted for Trump say "Trump had more people at his rallies. He won the debate. We had all the professional analytical predictions on our side."
When will people understand that it's all subjective to the bubble you live in.
