There is no smoke without fire. If the charges against City are false, the Premier League administration must face serious consequences. But if the charges are 100% true, City should not only be relegated to the lowest league in English football, they should be dissolved, erased from football history, banned from ever returning to the game, and every single achievement big or small should be stripped from them.
A letter from the Chairman
Manchester City FC
I have been part of this Club for 18 years. I have had the privilege to stand with you in the Etihad, at Wembley, and in Istanbul. This Club matters to me, and you have shown and told me – time and time again - how much Manchester City matters to you. This is why I am writing to you today.
Following Friday’s media reporting, many of you will have spent your evening answering questions and responding to messages from friends, family and colleagues. So have I. Here’s what I said to my family: The Premier League process still has a long way to run, and our confidence and intent in proving the Club’s innocence is just as strong as when this began.
There are so many things that I would like to be able to share with you to help you understand why we feel so confident in our position. But the strict confidentiality of the legal process and our determination to respect it means I cannot do that at the moment. Even this letter underwent several legal checks to make sure it complies.
While some people have been quick to reach their own conclusions, and there is so much noise swirling around us, nothing has changed. We have faced challenges together before and have prevailed. There remain many who want to undermine the momentum of our Club. We will not give them that opportunity.
We have some exciting moments to look forward to after this international break. We travel to Anfield in a fortnight, and then host Paris St Germain in the Champions League back at Etihad Stadium - moments that give us an opportunity to celebrate the strength of the Manchester City family.
Thank you, as always, for your constant support.
Khaldoon Al Mubarak
Chairman
Manchester City Football Club
They don't tell you the loneliest part of a foreign land is not being far from home. It's being surrounded by people every day and still having no voice. You only know how to say hello. So when they speak, you nod. When they insult, you smile. And you eat with them after, carrying words you couldn't say.
@GovUganda@ubctvuganda@MoWT_Uganda@mtnug@mtnmomoug Not a bad move but think of time taken to initiate the payment process especially if network is down. NFC tap-to-pay would be a much better solution.
I just discovered my hidden talent and it's confusing me 😅
3 years of pouring my personality into customer service in the metro and it doesn't feel like a job anymore. It feels like me.
Here's the mystery: Outside work I'm 100% introvert. I lock myself in my room the whole day and I love it; sleeping, watching, just lying on my bed doing nothing. Even on vacation I don't move outside the house or talk to people unless it's shopping moment. That's it.
But in the metro? Different person.
My smile shows up on its own. No permission. I find myself walking up to passengers to help them even when they clearly don't need help 😂 "Are you sure you don't need help? You look fine but let me double check?"
I meet people from every part of the world, speaking every language. I only speak English which is actually less spoken here, and it pains me deeply when someone approaches me and I can't help because of language. That moment can ruin my whole day.
So I improvise. Sign language, Google Translate, pointing at line colors, counting stops on my fingers…whatever it takes to make sure no one gets stuck.
It's not because it's a job I have to do. I just feel so connected to guiding people. My mission is simple: make sure every passer smiles before boarding the train or exiting the station.
That smile they give back? It satisfies me more than salary day.
So who am I exactly? A certified indoor human who turns into a people's person the second he wears the uniform? I still don't know. But I know this is where I belong.
