I'm getting very angry about the Cornell stuff but not for the reason you think. As a young adult I was told rape was the worst thing only to murder. That it irrevocably changed the victims life forever. And that's what I believed until about 10 years ago.

British taxpayers are set to fund around £70,000 of improvements to the five-bedroom council house occupied by the wife of convicted terrorist Abu Hamza in Shepherd’s Bush, West London.

The Edwardian property, reportedly valued at £1.7 million, is set to receive new windows and doors, solar panels and loft insulation. Hamza’s wife, Najat Chaffe, 67, is the only person registered at the address.

Hamza’s eight children were raised there, although the extremist cleric was never officially registered as living at the address. Three of his sons later received prison sentences for offenses involving drugs, money laundering and fraud.

Abu Hamza, 68, was jailed in Britain in 2006 for soliciting murder and inciting racial hatred before being extradited to the United States. He is serving life without parole after being convicted of terrorism offenses, including involvement in the 1998 kidnapping of Western tourists in Yemen.

Conservative opposition leader Jose Afonso called the planned spending a “disgusting waste of public money.”
