Is #AutoCAD feeling slow?

Before upgrading your computer, try these performance boosters first:

1. Start with a Clean Template (.DWT)
Don't copy old projects. A clean template prevents years of clutter from carrying into every new drawing.

2. PURGE Regularly
Unused blocks, layers, styles and linetypes all add unnecessary baggage to your drawings.

3. Keep Xrefs Organized
Detach references you no longer need and avoid attaching files that aren't part of your current project.

4. Clean Imported Geometry
Run **OVERKILL** after importing consultant drawings or PDFs to remove duplicate geometry.

5. Audit Your Drawing
Use **AUDIT** regularly to repair drawing errors before they start causing problems.

6. Limit Heavy Attachments
Large images, PDFs and point clouds can dramatically impact performance. Only load what you actually need.

7. Update Your Graphics Settings
Make sure Hardware Acceleration is enabled and your graphics driver is up to date. Sometimes this alone can make navigation much smoother.
