@louieruvolo I had to consolidate 63k dollars in debt when I got sober. I paid it off in just over 5 years, and now I have 8 years of sobriety, and no overdue payments on anything.
@street_trashed I really clung to this need to get a year sober. But my bubble burst on day 366 when I realized I was still an alcoholic... Just hit the 8 year mark, and now I don't really fixate on the time sober, I just focus on staying sober today.
@street_trashed It takes time for sure for it to become a supporting character in your life. It certainly consumed me for the first couple of years. Almost 8 years sober, although I still identify as an alcoholic, it rarely consumes space in my brain!
@Gregor1313 I "tried" many times to stop drinking. But I just wanted to get drunk. When I hit bottom and quit for real, sobriety became the best thing that ever happened to me.
@complicatedpast@thesoberheathen It's AA or bust, and if you're not going to at least 9 meetings a week, your program is shit, and you will relapse. You must eat, breathe, live AA to stay sober. 😅
@teachcrap I had a student one year who did that after phys ed class. Every class, without fail. He has no idea to this day, how impactful those kind words were to me.
@tammyrobert I hope they differentiate clearly between Shotgunning a beer 101, and Shotgunning - How to bring a firearm to work without consequences 101. I believe they're both currently in the works.
@CommonsensePaul@MattBSask Ah! All good! Either way, it's still a gross number. And they usually lighten up the younger grades, which means the older grades likely will be over 30!
