110 years ago today, more than 800 Newfoundlanders went into battle at Beaumont-Hamel. More than 700 were killed, wounded, or went missing in a single day. Despite their horrific losses, the Newfoundland Regiment fought in World War I until 1918.
Today, as we celebrate the greatest country on Earth, we remember all those who served and sacrificed so that we could live in freedom and peace.
Acadians are proud of their culture, roots, and language. 🇨🇦

Group Of Seven Artist A.Y.Jackson filmed by CBC circa 1955 in Manotick, where he built his new studio home.

Greenland has a public healthcare system where treatment is free of charge for residents. Patients requiring highly specialized care are referred to Queen Ingrid’s Hospital in Nuuk or onward to hospitals in Denmark — without out-of-pocket payment for the treatment itself.
According to the latest published figures, 1,418 patients residing in Greenland were treated in the Capital Region of Denmark in 2024. This demonstrates that an established and well-functioning system for advanced treatment outside Greenland already exists when necessary.
Greenland maintains a close and well-functioning cooperation with Denmark in the field of healthcare.
Trump and the Governor of Louisiana shall not interfere in Greenland’s internal healthcare system — just as Greenland does not interfere in the internal healthcare system of the United States. Period.
McMaster University has posted the email written by the professor to Canadian figure skater Maddie Schizas, granting her an extension on her assignment.
“I’d say focus on the competition right now, and submit it directly to me when it is done”
This is a really lovely note.
There is an old word to describe going to a foreign power and asking for their assistance in breaking up a sovereign country — it’s treason.
Canadians are standing together in defence of this beautiful land. 🇨🇦
I’m heartbroken by the loss of my friend Kirsty Duncan.
Kirsty was curious, generous, and deeply committed to helping others. She believed in knowledge, compassion, and service, and she brought those values into every conversation and every fight she took on. I learned a great deal from her, and I was lucky to call her a friend.
I’ll miss her greatly. My thoughts are with her family, her friends, and all those whose lives she touched.
Please, let’s not start this all over again.
You are not getting sovereignty of Canada, or any part thereof.
Canada is, like Denmark, a NATO ally, but it is also a member of the Commonwealth and its Head of State is His Majesty King Charles III. 🇨🇦🇬🇧
Canada will not be bullied.
Canada is not for taking.
Not now. Not ever.
We can trade globally and stand independently. We will do both.
The True North will forever be Strong and Free.
