Probably an unpopular opinion, but Azula deserved better. She's a 16 year old girl, struggling with mental health, who only feels loved by her father when she is doing literal crimes against humanity. If she had felt loved by her mother, or had a parental figure that stepped up for her like Uncle Iroh, I believe she would’ve figured it out like Zuko did. I think we see a glimpse of that in the beach episode.
