@Dfafed686 I went into Build and Zero-One with positive feelings too (Build had a pretty decent Q1, all things considered). Doubt I'll end up liking it, Ohmori style just doesn't appeal to me even when he's doing things I like on paper. Not being as bad as his last show would be good enough

Want to finish last three Sentai shows. Won't be making threads on them, instead I'll share 1st episode impressions (I've checked them alongside Gotchard/Gavv's ones a while back) and then swing back after finishing the shows. Think of it like an appendix to that blog post.

So fucking boring, Zenkaiger should relinquish the worst 1st episode in the series title. It has currentday-Shirakura flags all over it to the point where I forgot he wasn't the one making it until now. The whole thing comes off as coal of the highest order in general.

Looks like Go-Onger redux with Go-Busters production values, which I guess isn't the worst thing ever (depends on whether it's Takegami's Go-Onger or Aikawa/Arakawa's). Listening to its SC and seiyuu line-up predisposed me more positively but can't say I expect a lot.

Remembered about this thing buzzing when Hogwarts Legacy was launching, so did the official quiz thing myself. Not really impressed with the tests tbh but even that is better compared to how game itself did the sorting.

Gender Theory-ing Kill la Kill is dumb but Imaishi created an otaku / Steven Universe fandom overlap himself by actively courting later. Show's /u/ stuff is a handover from Re:Cutie Honey like other things but it reached audience Re didn't because it was pushed at tumblr harder.

Taketatsu's cover of Yuusha for CrosSing is so bizarre. Sound mixing is atrocious with vocals and music constantly being at odds, at some points it sounds like she's just talking through song at places where Yaosobi girl was clearly using her singing voice.

I get that this is technically complex song but they had just about every other Yaosobi being much better than the original (Akari Kito just killed that Beastars OP) and Taketatsu did good songs for them before. It shouldn't sound like Hyakka Seiran sample.
