It’s totally unacceptable in modern Britain that anybody anywhere can use #Fireworks between 7am and 11pm, just because they want to, for “fun”. This beautiful rescue dog paid the ultimate price for someone else’s “fun”.
All the “but it’s only one night” people please note, this poor dog died during a private display on 15th November!
All the “ban dogs” people please note we’re not interested in your whataboutery, and trying to make this all about dogs is extremely disingenuous to humans who suffer from firework noise and nuisance, wildlife and livestock.

Redwings Horse Sanctuary has released footage of two of their rescue ponies reacting to a nearby #fireworks display. Those involved in horse care will know how worrying this time of year can be.
Redwings has shared the video to help illustrate the risks to those outside the equestrian world. Watch the video in this article: https://t.co/7uh95FUcMo
We see many posts about dogs going missing due to #Fireworks, we see hundreds of videos showing petrified dogs and horses, imagine the effect on #wildlife too. It’s heartbreaking but the message must be delivered to the firework using public - your moments of “fun” are destroying animal lives and damaging biodiversity. Giving up the right to buying fireworks is a very small price to pay to stop this.
Limit the sale of fireworks to those running local council approved events only. Has over 180,000 signatures.

The majority of our opponents pick on our supporters who have #stressed#dogs as if that is the only reason for this campaign. A new well researched article on our website shows how it isn’t the owners fault their dog is stressed by #Fireworks. It’s worth bookmarking this post for reference.
It concludes by saying
“Many dogs have been desensitized to fireworks as puppies and have been adequately trained and socialized, and yet they still develop a fear of fireworks. The fact that dogs don’t develop this fear until around the age of 4 proves that often the fear is due to over-exposure, trauma, anxiety or health issues. If it was solely due to a lack of training or due to the dog guardians’ response to the fear, we would likely see the phobia developing much earlier in the dog’s life.
Therefore, it is hurtful and completely speculative to blame guardians for a dog’s phobia of fireworks. The real blame rests on the shoulders of those who continue to set off loud fireworks, knowing for well the suffering it causes to dogs, pets, wildlife, and even people.”

This evening this petition stands at 93400, let’s smash it through the 100k target and get another parliamentary debate on #fireworks
The petition asks to reduce the maximum noise level for #consumer fireworks from 120 to 90 decibels
We think each year, individuals suffer because of loud fireworks. We believe horses, dogs, cats, livestock and wildlife can be terrified by noisy fireworks and many people find them intolerable.
There’s more to talk about than just decibel levels given the horrendous behaviour we’ve seen so far this autumn, but it’s a start.

Armed forces veterans with PTSD, indeed anyone with that or other mental health condition can suffer terribly from #fireworks. Please remember them when you go to buy fireworks, either donate the money to a veterans charity instead or buy low noise fireworks. #fireworklawchange@CombatStress@HelpforHeroes@AlistairCarns
Sir Stephen Fry is backing the @RedwingsHS#firework decibel reduction petition- “I totally support Redwings’ efforts to raise awareness and seek change that could limit the danger posed by using loud fireworks,” he said. “I have signed and shared this petition and am urging everyone to keep horses in mind.”
You can sign the petition, now on 65k signatures here: https://t.co/etQbhuOt56

An incredible occasion to be part of, every person who signed the petition has made a difference & hopefully this can now be pushed further.
Thanks @BeckAdlington for helping to raise the awareness 🧡 Gluten free food should be affordable & accessible to EVERYONE who needs it.
Gluten free food should be accessible & affordable to EVERYONE who needs it. I hope by raising awareness tomorrow those in positions of power will stop, listen, think... & ultimately help bring change. It is not a choice for so many - following a GF diet for life is the only way!
Our petition to end the postcode lottery of gluten free prescriptions has reached an incredible milestone—over 17,000 signatures! A huge thank you to everyone who has signed and shared so far.
Later this month, the Coeliac UK team, along with MPs, healthcare professionals and those directly affected by the withdrawal of gluten free prescriptions will deliver the petition directly to Number 10 Downing Street, calling on the Government to take immediate action to safeguard access to gluten free food through NHS prescriptions.
But before we hand over the petition, we want to celebrate this amazing community effort and stand together. Join us at Parliament Square on Wednesday 19 March, from 1pm to 2pm to show your support! If you're planning to come, please fill out the form below so we can expect you. To show your support, we’d love for you to wear a Coeliac UK t-shirt to demonstrate solidarity, or alternatively a plain orange t-shirt if you have one! If you don’t have a Coeliac UK t-shirt already they can be purchased via the Coeliac UK shop with all proceeds going to help those who need to live gluten free.

So exciting and only possible thanks to the incredible gluten free and coeliac community all pushing for better, raising awareness & signing the petition. It will be amazing for us all to stand together on the 19th March to show how important this is and how it affects so many 🙌
One teaspoon of the neonicotinoids pesticide could kill 1.25 billion bees. And yet the Government could be about to let it back on English fields. Sign the petition: tell Ministers to keep this ban on bee-killing pesticides in place. https://t.co/hvHyc1s9S3
🙌 | Kevin Sinfield is the pride of Rugby League.
In 2024 alone he has raised over £1 million for Motor Neurone Disease charities and, in total, has raised a whopping £11 million with his incredible fundraising work over the years.
Despite a serious muscle injury, he completed a 230-mile run this December, finishing seven ultra marathons in seven days.
His dedication to raising awareness for MND is remarkable. You'll always be Sir Kevin Sinfield to us.
