Please RT this until the BBC gives this story the same level of blanket coverage - as it would for the leader of any other UK political Party.

hey Americans, the @guardian is a brilliant newspaper. It's not gated, it's independent and the coverage is detailed on global issues. It's the website to read if you want reliable fact-checked news.
My fundamental thoughts on the BBC.
I am not (yet?) British, but when I lived abroad, the BBC was everything to me: informative, engaging, indispensable.
It was also everything for the older members of my family when they listened to Radio Londra and its wonderful "Colonnello Buonasera" as they tried to get rid of fascism and nazism and found hope and solace in the BBC.
Italy is now a free country, thanks also to the BBC.
Everything can make mistakes, and those must be seriously addressed. But from a foreigner's point of view, having lived in several countries, the BBC is the most excellent and impactful media in the world and also the best British asset of soft power.
Therefore, I am stunned by how much the BBC is criticised in this country, with many people treating it like an average broadcaster.
To make an easy comparison, in Italy, for instance, public TV Rai is, in fact, state TV, and political parties directly choose its directors. This would never happen to the BBC.
My advice to British people is: the BBC can be improved— like everything — but do take care of it.
It's something that billions of people in the world envy you for.
Good night.
"Working at the BBC, I felt that there was a strong awareness to be checking potential liberal left biases – and very few from the other direction," says Lewis Goodall.
Memo leaks claim the BBC has been captured by left wing politics. What's going on?

I've written to Keir Starmer, Kemi Badenoch and Nigel Farage, urging them to join me in condemning Elon Musk's dangerous remarks inciting violence yesterday.
As leaders, we must stand together and make clear Musk will face serious consequences for these actions.
Not only am I banned from going inside, the NEC (yeah right) won’t even let us film outside the building….welcome to @nigel_farage 's Free Speech Britain….:)
Starmer ravages Farage:
"The honourable member for Clacton is not here... he's flown to America to badmouth and talkdown our country. And worse than that... he's gone to lobby the Americans to impose sanctions. You cannot get more unpatriotic than that. It's a disgrace."

The targeting & killing of journalists in Gaza & the failure of the media to show collective solidarity & to take collective action is…incomprehensible.
I feel a such profound sense of shame & failure. It’s not just the death of journalists. It’s the death of journalism.

On the 9th anniversary of her killing, all I want is for Jo’s death not to have been in vain. To be remembered as a moment when we realised the dangers of polarisation, extremism & hate. It doesn’t feel like that at the moment- but she wouldn’t want us to give up. #MoreInCommon
As Israeli forces kill 4 more journalists in Gaza, research shows more journalists have died there than the US Civil War, WW I + II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Yugoslavia wars and the post-9/11 war in Afghanistan, combined https://t.co/pn69ZxuEGo
