@laurahelmuth I cringe when ppl use “prior” instead of “before” as in “we bought the house 2 years prior to that” or “we already bought that the year prior”
@bettybarc0de@laurahelmuth Noticed this a lot more recently. I don’t remember people using it as much in the past. Maybe around the time ppl started “utilizing” things instead of using them, and “facilitating” things 😂
Hi everyone! Check out this tutorial/presentation (https://t.co/VbVpS0XAjk) on how to use @Flipgrid as a means of using video to increase collaboration in your classroom! I hope you find it useful! #techinpedagogy#techinpedagogy400
Just started using @prezi to make more compelling visual slide presentations... you can go from subject to subject as you present, and customize the presentation to audience/class interest and questions #techinpedagogy400#techinpedagogy
One resource students can use for accurate and succinct history lessons is the Today in History app, where each day they get a snapshot of some important events that happened on that day! #techinpedagogy400#techinpedagogy#knowledgeconstructor
Great tool to help students who might struggle with SAT vocab but love memorizing song lyrics! @Flocabulary makes it easy/fun to get kids engaged in learning #techinpedagogy#techinpedagogy400
@inspirecitizen1 Q3) one option to address the inequality in ST performance across differing SES would be to minimize the weight it has in admissions decisions. It would still exist but not be the deciding factor
@inspirecitizen1 A2) this accounts for the different levels of academic rigor, which is good because a S can only work within the environment they’re given. A problem I foresee is parents in “gentrifying” neighborhoods placing their kids in public schools to raise their adversity scores #edchatRI
@inspirecitizen1 A1) since other variables (grades, recommendations) are so subjective, some kids (less social, introverted) might rely on a standardized test as their best hope for appealing to an admissions board. class participation could be low even if they know all the answers
